What's hiding in your socks?

Did you know your feet often show symptoms of disease before any other part of your body?

The human foot is a complicated body part, and it's something we often take for granted. Probably because they are hidden in your shoes all day.

With 15,000 nerves in your feet alone, this makes them very sensitive to touch. That is why foot massages and pedicures feel so good!

Your feet can show you a lot about what’s going on with the rest of your body.

Here's what your feet could be telling you?

  • Cold Feet – Circulation challenges

  • Heel Pain – Plantar Fasciitis, Arthritis, Excessive Exercise, Bad shoes

  • Swollen Feet & Ankles - Diabetes, Blood Clot, Lymphedema

  • Foot Spasms – Tight & tired muscles, Dehydration, Imbalances in Potassium, Magnesium, Calcium, or Vitamin D levels.

  • Yellow Toenails – Fungal infection

That is just a short list!

In this post, I’m focusing on your Big Toes.

I have clients who say they benefit from monthly foot reflexology.

Just like your neck, back, and shoulders, your feet can also benefit from a regular rubdown.

Foot massage improves:

  • circulation

  • stimulates muscles

  • reduces tension

  • and eases pain

Reflexology of the foot is a massage technique that many people seek out to help them deal with issues in their lives.

In particular, the big toes are pretty important to your health and well-being.

This is where your head, brain, pituitary gland, pineal gland, and upper cervical spine (neck) reflexes are located.

The big toes play an essential role in reflexology, and I believe, also holds a special connection to the liver and spleen. If you are experiencing:

  • Dull or dry skin

  • Frequent Fatigue

  • Unmotivated

  • Concentration Problems

  • Anger

  • Anxiety

Then Working on the two big toe meridians (spleen & liver), may actually help enhance their functioning and improve these symptoms.

How about hard skin on your big toes. What does it mean?

Hard skin on the feet serves a protective function, and indicates where the feet are coming under the greatest stress.

Most of the time I find patients will have a massive build-up of hard skin on the medial side of their big toes. This indicates that a person’s legs have an outward rotation when walking I would assume they have some sort of mid to low back tightness and pain too.

Since this area of the foot is coming under the greatest daily stress, I would speculate that my patient also has ongoing stressful thoughts; and this mental tension may be a consequence of their external environment.

Remember how the big toes are connected to the pituitary gland?

This gland produces endorphins which can inhibit the transmission of pain signals through the spinal cord. This is your body’s own natural pain killer, and endorphins are five to ten times more powerful than morphine!

Here is how I will help you.

By the way, I designed a NEW bi-weekly service that will save your feet and give you relief.
